SHOUT AT THE HEAD OF THE NATIONS! Jeremiah 31:7
In 1986, GATES OF BRASS was premiered world wide. All viewers were invited to sign a "Let My People Go!" petition which we delivered in Moscow, during Passover 1989 to Mr. Gorbachov's advisor on Human Rights and Jewish Affairs.
Rabbi Rueven Bulka of Ottawa reflects: "This production, unique and pioneering, projected in graphic form the plight of Jews in the Soviet Union. Today the situation in the USSR has changed dramatically. But let us not forget that much of change has come from international pressure. Much of international pressure was generated by activities such as showing of GATES OF BRASS. We know this from the fact that the Soviet Union actually protested to the Canadian Government that a parliamentarian was on the road with the film. In the end, the film GATES OF BRASS, coupled with iron will and determination, and of course some other factors, caused the significant change for which we are today so grateful."
